Madrone Cellars & Cider

It started with helping bottle wine for an afternoon out on October Farms and quickly blossomed into a friendship and many more creative projects. I have had the joy of creating the label art for their new line of canned wines and ciders, the Camas label, the layout of their updated website and I hope many more projects to come.

Can Labels

I was asked to come up with labels for 13 different cans of both wines and ciders. Each can was to look unique on its own but also look cohesive when on a shelf with the others. The existing label for Madrone lends itself to the soft, handmade feeling of watercolor prints but I didn’t want just any watercolor island scene. Shaun and Amy, the owners of Madrone, are all about community and sharing their passion with others. I wanted each design to feel like a glimpse into their life and the joy that is so apparent in their business. To open a can of cider and be transported to what it’s like to live amongst the magic of the San Juan Islands and the fruits of their labor.

2023 Camas

With the can labels being a big success, I was asked to make a wine label for their carbonic red they are calling Camas. They wanted a camas flower that had the same watercolor feel. Lots of open space to go along with their existing labels.
